We depart from your Marrakech riad or hotel in the morning, beginning our journey across the High Atlas Mountains. We will navigate the winding roads of the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), stopping for panoramic views of traditional Berber villages. Our first major stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and backdrop for films like 'Gladiator'. After lunch, we pass through Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa) and the scenic 'Road of a Thousand Kasbahs' before arriving at our hotel in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley towards the dramatic Todra Gorge, where sheer limestone cliffs rise 300 meters above the river. Enjoy a walk through the canyon before continuing our journey through Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, and into the arid Saharan landscapes. We arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Here, you'll trade the vehicle for a camel, embarking on a picturesque trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets. Arrive at your luxury desert camp where you will be treated to a traditional Moroccan dinner, drumming around the campfire, and a night under the stars.
Wake up early to witness a magical Saharan sunrise over the dunes. After a refreshing shower and breakfast at the camp, you will ride your camel back to the meeting point. We then begin our return journey to Marrakech, taking a different route via the arid landscapes of Alnif and the expansive palm groves of the Draa Valley. We cross the Anti-Atlas mountains back to Ouarzazate, and finally cross the High Atlas Mountains once more to arrive in Marrakech by early evening. You will be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of an incredible adventure.
