Your journey, your pace, your Morocco experience.
We leave Marrakech in the morning, climbing into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. We cross the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass, stopping to admire panoramic views of Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. We arrive at the UNESCO-protected Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified city that has served as a filming location for 'Game of Thrones' and 'Gladiator'. After exploring the Kasbah, we drive to Ouarzazate, the cinematic capital of Morocco, where we will spend our first night.
Today we take the famous 'Road of a Thousand Kasbahs'. Our first stop is the lush Skoura Oasis, home to the magnificent Kasbah Amridil. We then continue to Kelaat M'Gouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, renowned for its annual rose festival and cosmetic products. We proceed into the Dades Valley, admiring the bizarre rock formations known as 'monkey fingers' and the winding mountain roads. We will check into a traditional Kasbah hotel for dinner and a peaceful night's rest.
We depart the Dades Valley and travel to Tinghir to visit the spectacular Todra Gorge. Here, you can walk between 300-meter-high vertical cliffs carved by the Todra River. After lunch, our journey takes us through the arid, volcanic landscapes of the pre-Sahara, passing through Erfoud and Rissani before the monumental sand dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. We arrive in Merzouga, where you will check into a comfortable desert-edge hotel to relax by the pool.
A full day dedicated to the Sahara! We will take a 4x4 off-road adventure around the dunes, visiting the seasonal lake of Dayet Srji, and stopping in Khamlia village to enjoy a performance of authentic Gnawa music. We'll also visit nomad families living in traditional Berber tents to learn about their way of life. In the late afternoon, you'll mount your camel for a trek into the heart of the dunes. Watch the breathtaking sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp for an evening of music, delicious food, and stargazing.
Wake up early for a spectacular desert sunrise before riding your camel back to the meeting point. We depart Merzouga, embarking on a different, incredibly scenic route. We drive through the vast Draa Valley, following Morocco's longest river, flanked by millions of palm trees and ancient ruined kasbahs. We stop in Agdz and Ouarzazate for breaks and lunch, before crossing the High Atlas Mountains once more. You will arrive back in Marrakech in the early evening, concluding your 5-day grand desert tour.
